YOU can say that scarification is the superlative of tattooing. As everyone and their mothers wear ink under their skin, deliberately made scars are still considered to be something for freaks. Well, not in Africa and other parts of the world like Papua New Guinea. Over there the scars are marks that are worn with pride and sometimes to cure illnesses like measles, and pneumonia.
