Ethiopians Live It Out

THIS is very diaspora. The people on the pictures below are Ethiopian Hebrews living in New York City. Some say they are the sons and daughters of King Solomon and many Rastafarians believe that they are from Jewish descent because of this link. The first reports of Ethiopian Hebrews date back to the 9th century. On these pictures you see a group of them who split up (again) from the rest and moved to New York City.  Photographer Percy Loomis Sperr took these photos of a congregation in 1940.
