BRAZILIANS know how to live it up. The photographs of Alfred Eisenstaedt show a world where it is always summer. In the year 1973 Eisenstaedt made a trip to Brazil and shot the photo’s you see below. The picture of the wet buildings illuminated by the sun, rainbows in the background, is very nice. The images are from the LIFE archive.


The photographer is mostly know because of a photo he made on the day WWII ended of a sailor kissing a nurse on Times Square. The photo is so iconic, that is has a name; ‘V-J Day in Times Square’.
